It's not difficult to see by the subjects that appear in my novels that I like to travel. Lots of curiosity and good luggage are obviously not all it takes but that's a great place to start. Since I haven't been anywhere farther away than my local library lately, I thought I would share some photos from a trip to Florida I took last year with my daughter.
Nothing says "Florida" like water, boats, and palm trees. This was the view from our hotel on Marathon Key. At night a peculiar green light appeared in the water and we could see the fish swimming around. We never did figure out why it was there.
Ernest Hemingway's house was a must-see for my daughter. We skipped the organized tour and wandered around on our own. Pretty location and yard and interesting bathroom fixtures. There is a little bookstore in the back selling Hemingway's books.
Sometimes it's fun to do all the touristy stuff so we visited the Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory. It was nothing short of enchanting to wander through a place filled with butterflies. They have a nice gift shop, too, where I picked up and brought home some cute flamingo items for my collection.
Watching the sunset in Key West is pretty much a requirement for visiting. There is always plenty of action and things to do and buy. The air is a soft as a whisper and the sky never disappoints.
Where I share thoughts, creative ideas, and spread sweetness for abundant living.
